Ann Arbor Karate Club

Sensei Morris Lawrence III started Karate in 1981, and is currently a 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate. He has been teaching since 1986 and has been competing in both Kata and Kumite internationally.

Some of his accomplishments include:

  • 1997 WSKA, Riverside CA. 6th Place in Kata

  • 1999 Top 16 in Kata, Moscow, Russia

  • 2000 3rd in Kata, ISKF Nationals

  • 2001 1st in Kata, 3rd in sanbon kumite, 4th in shobu ippon, AJKA Nationals

  • 2002 1st in Kata, 3rd in Kumite, and goodwill match, Eurocup, Budapest, Hungary

Classes and Schedule: 

Shotokan Karate Adult

   Monday and Wednesday: 

  • Beginner, 7:30-8:30pm (no uniform required, wear loose fitted clothing)

  • Intermediate/Advanced, 7:30-9:00pm

   Friday:

  • Brown/Black Belt Advanced, 6:30-8:30pm

   Saturday:

  • Advanced Beginner and Above, 9:30-11:00am

 

Junior Karate (8 to 12 years)

   Monday & Wednesday:

  • Beginner, 6:30-7:30pm (no uniform required, wear loose fitted clothing)

  • Intermediate/Adv, 6:30-7:30pm

 

CARDIOKARATE (Aerobics + Karate Moves, to the GROOVE!!)

  • Monday, 5:30-6:30pm

  • Wednesday, 6:30-7:30pm

  • Friday, 5:30-6:30pm

    • *Wear loose fitted clothing, and gym shoes.
